Many of our customers come to us with questions about the services we provide. This page answers the most frequently asked questions that we receive. If you have a question that is not on this list, please e-mail us or call with your question, and we will reply.

Q: How far will you travel?

A: Our normal range covers all of Louisiana and Texas, but we will travel almost anywhere in the U.S.

Q: What time of the year do you plant?

A: Our normal planting time is from April 1st until the first freeze of the year. In May, we dry plant; In June, July, and August we only plant into moisture, and then we dry plant again until the first freeze.

Q: How much grass do you plant per acre?

A: We plant approximately 24 bushels per acre.

Q: Is there a limit to the amount of acreage you will plant?

A: No, there is no limit, we will plant 1 acre or 50,000 acres.

Q: Do you offer any guarantees?

A: No, we do not offer any guarantees.  As far as we know there are no guarantees offered in the grass planting business.

Q: How long does it take for the grass to establish itself?

A: Under favorable growing conditions you will see grass production in about 90 days. This means having proper rainfall, using the proper herbicide, and using the fertilizer program we recommend.

Q: Do you have any references?

A: Yes, you will be given references on request.

Q: Where do you get the grass that you are planting?

A: We have 7 fields from Victoria, TX, to Lake Charles, LA. We tend to these fields ourselves to ensure that we plant only mature tops.

Q: Are you available after the grass has been planted?

A: Yes, we make ourselves available to all of our customers for consulting on how to properly take care of your pasture land.

Q:  How do I check for moisture?

A:  After the land is prepared you need at least an inch of rain.   Check to see if the top layer of moisture meets the bottom layer of moisture.  There should be no dry line between the layers of moisture.

Q:  Do you plant Coastal Bermuda?

A:  Yes, we will plant Coastal Bermuda roots during Jan, Feb, and Mar, but we feel that Jiggs and Tifton 85 are superior to the Coastal Bermuda.

Q:  I am thinking about installing an irrigation system.  Who do you recommend?

A:  We recommend ATS Irrigation Inc. out of Brenham, TX.  You can reach them at 1-800-656-2197.
